The Scirocco is sick. If they would bring it stateside I'd consider buying a new car for the first time ever.

They're not going to. It would directly eclipse sales of the MkV Golf/GTI.

It's the same reason they never brought the 3-door Audi A3/S3 over. I would rock one of these in a heartbeat.

But it doesn't eclipse sales in Europe, where the market is even tighter? I've never understood the marketing strategy of most european car makers on this.....

I would love to see it here, but Josh is right. They're fucking pussies for some reason. I remember when they wouldn't bring the MkIV R32 over here. When they finally did, it sold out every one of the 5000 cars in like a nanosecond. I just don't understand how these marketing guys can be so wrong, the Scirocco would sell like fucking hotcakes here.

Oh I know they aren't going to bring it here, that's why I said if the would.

It's just too bad we constantly get the crappy cars. *puts on flamesuit*

The bad boy turbo'd Focus, the Renault Clio (love em) etc etc. But who do we get to come back to the market? Alfa Romeo, weak.

R32's are badass, they sold so fast over here because they're AWD.

Yes another awesome car, but a bit overpriced, underpowered and heavy IMHO for the price. When they came out they were only a couple grand cheaper than an STi which would murder it.

But I still have a soft spot for VW, I want to get one eventually to add to the stable.

But on that note, I see anywhere between 2-10 STi's every day. Without fail. I see maybe one R32 a week. I'm so fucking sick of STi's I want to punch myself in the balls.

Yep - and VW has it rather tough in this market as it is. They're more of a niche marque in America. If they pulled out of the US market completely they'd survive just dandy without us. In the number of cars they sell here versus all the other markets worldwide, the US pales in comparison.
