and no the 320i is still faster than the 325e. Not by much, but it is. I got my car for the rarity of it, not so I can race.

Ebay E30 market is a crapshoot / 50-50 / luck. You may find the right buyer, you might not.

Off topic...
In Montreal it's $1.42 liter = $5.37 gal and if the oil boys stick to the plan it will probably be $1.52 liter = $5.75 gal by the end of the day. For some reason they always raise the price on Tuesdays by about 10 to 12 cents a liter and the slowly bring it down all week just to start the whole process again the following week.

It's really all about finding the right buyer. I looked for over 1.5 years for the right E30, and then paid a pretty penny for it. How many people do you know that visit R3V, e30tech, s14, Bf.c, bimmerforums, bimmerfest, e46fanatics, roundel, autotrader, ebay, craigslist (national!), and even obscure local forums EVERY DAY for years just to find the right car? I don't care if someone else thinks I "overpaid", because I know what is/was available - and what a car is worth is what someone (me in this case) will pay for it. If it's true that "a fool and his money are soon parted", then the grin on my face every time I take a hard, increasing radius turn at the top of second gear, or heel-and-toe a downshift into a 90-degree left is worth being "foolish" ;).
Be patient and persistent. You'll find the right buyer. Unless you just have to sell it right now, you will find someone..

Thats a damn nice car, I wish i could have found that deal when I was in the market for an e30! People in my area think that just because it has a BMW symbol on it, a rusted ETA should still sell for 3,000 bucks.Alpine 86' 325 - Eibach Pro-kit(ftl), Millie Miglias, Ansa exhuast, US eilpsod's W/ HIDs, IS valence, More to come..

honestly I'd think $5500 is a pretty fair price.
you have a pretty clean 318is with a rebuilt motor. But there are a lot of negatives:
-it's modified
-it's missing a headlight
-no power steering
-no a/c
-needs some paint
-no glove box
-boy racer fire extinguisher under the seat mod
-non working OBC
-broken odometer
-it's modified (did I say that?)
the car as a base is probably work $3k, you added a new motor and a lot of maintenance (it doesn't matter than it's an M50 swap, especially since a basic swap isn't that expensive). I bet you'd get around $5500 if you had it professionaly appraised.
You may have put a lot of work into it and there may be a lot of new parts, but that doesn't mean it's worth $10k. Not when you can buy an E36 M3 for the same price. no they aren't the same car, but people out there in the market are going to be making comparisons like that and honestly the E36 would probably win their favor if they aren't already an E30 enthusiast.
definitely not an "investment".
