oKay well I only broke one crankshaft just fyi lol. And I wish I could do that swap p cause that would just be ballin but I dont have the extra cash on me. So basically it would be in my best interest to get a new engine? seeing as the crank probably srcewed the whole thing up?

how do you know it's broken? I've never heard of a broken M20 crank (except maybe a race motor). I've seen pictures of rods sticking out of the block and huge chunks taken out of the pistons, no oil pressure after over a mile of driving and the crank was still fine. if you did break it, i want to know how the hell it happened (and a broken cam belt isn't going to do it).

Why would you buy a whole new car?

Oh man that's nothing. The crank isnt broken, it just sheared off a little bit. Get a good solid weld on it and you'll be good to go. Unless you really want to buy another car..

-Sheesh... back OT now... m20 cranks are pretty buff. How would an t-belt snap cause this?

It wouldnt lol. It would have to be something else like a high revving hydro lock or something. I just dont understand how you shear an M20 crank like that..

WTF, this thread doesn't even make sense! Why would ask "what can I do about a broken crank?" You don't really have much of a choice in the matter.... its not like you can fix something like that, and to be honest threads like this are just retarded. If you blew up your engine and you know it, why would you think that there is some magical way to fix it? Take out your engine, open it up and see what happened. Then put a new engine in.

ban for referencing another forum somewhere else and being too lazy to copy and paste.

I still not quiet sure how you know it's broken if you haven't opened the engine up or removed the engine from transmission. Makes me wonder if you know what you're talking about. Are you sure that your flywheel is fine? Starter got stuck on the flywheel? clutch lost it's springs in the bell housing? Rear seal blew out and that fried the crank contact surface? I mean what the hell happened?

You may as well put up a pic of your car and ask "What's wrong?" I bet there will be thousands of people telling you what's wrong, and that's not even bringing up psychiatric problems of the driver.

OK! lol. To answer all your questions. I wasnt asking what to do about a broken crank I was asking what would be in my best interest. And yes I know it is broken because when the mechanic pulled the fylwheel off and turned the crank it made a bad sound and turned alot farther then it should have. and lastly I am getting a new car because yes I want to lol I always wanted a white one and the fact that its a coupe is okay I would rather have the 4dr but my old one was red with a black maaco so this completely white one is better to me.
