i thought my instructions said not to, but i was in a hurry. im not running them, nothings happened yet. i read somewhere else that your supposed to cut the stock bumps in half but i'm not 100% sure that was meant for billy sports
Got the car apart tonight. The instructions said to use bumpstops. My car on oe springs didn't have any anyhow. I think I will just run without them and see how she does......
Always use bumpstops. Unless you want potential premature wear on the shocks.

bilstein sports do not require a bumpstop, it has one built internally. it will not prematurely wear the struts/shocks if you dont run one externally.
have a nice day.
The fronts do not require bump stops the rears do. I just called Bilstein.

HOW THE HELL do you put bump stops on Sports? i can see how on HD's and Touringm but on Sports? The shaft is so freaking wide, and they should have come with the blue boot around them that doesn't allow you to use a bump stop.
OH, and for the rears, if your car is low enough, you shouldn't ever use bilstein sports. With H&R Race, i had very little room for the shock to travel, so they're practically bottomed out all the time anyway. Use shock mount reinforcements, as you will need them soon.
And you still never need bump stops, unless your trailing arm travels past your upper spring perch.
