    emissions idle "too high"

took my m30b35 swapped e30 to get emissions tested today and they said the car was idling too high...
my understanding is that there is no idle adjustments on these motors, is there any way i can drop the idle down?

it doesnt sound too high to me imo....

Make sure the TB isn't adjusted out at all. There really isnt any idle adjustment other than that. Maybe a vac leak.

yea, i checked for vacuum leaks. today was the first time the car has seen the road since the swap.

what is your idle speed? assuming the M30 is similar to the M20 and other BMW 6's, it should be around 700rpm +/- 50.

just has to idle below 1100.... but you should make it idle properly

my tach reads right around 800, they're cig liter plug reads 1350, and the clamp on the wire reads 1200. I know the sound of the engine is not anywhere close to that... so wtf? is they're machine messed up or is it user error?

that has to be wrong. they must have set something up wrong - a 1350 idle would be pretty damn obvious.
