believe me I thought about it but I have gone with "cheap" headers before, so I know I would never be satisfied.

u know, if you are handy with a welder (tig pref). headers are not that hard to make!

you can buy donuts in what ever dia. you need, then chop saw and copy the china knock off. they copied a good design. you are just copying a copy then. you can make them out of a better quality metal. the biggest hurdle is the flanges at the head. all you would need to do is take stock cast iron manifolds to a machine shop and have them copied (the flange).

you could make them actually better by using a high quality collector too.

well I'm not very handy with a welder, so I have to buy them. Welding up my exhaust is going to be challenging enough. :p

damit! if you were here in AZ I would teach you!
too bad, i have built a bunch of headers for VW's and V-8 cars.
              yea for wasted talent.

i have actually been thinking about doing just that after i get mine here....unfortunately the final cost if you were going to sell them is WAY out of the grasp of most of R3v though.

if you can do it yourself, you are well under the $400 mark.

I was quite good at welding waaay back in high school but i haven't welded anything but my strut mounts since then, and they aren't very pretty. However I'll be using a mig at least instead of the stick welder I tried to use on my strut mounts..

                  Honestly...

And I hate to admit this...

Other than the lack of clean up inside...

These aren't that bad of quality.

well aside from half of them not fitting right and leaking at the head, and the shiney "chrome" coating coming off after 6 months. :p

plus these are a slightly different design.

comparing the 2 by the pictures, the difference seems to be mainly tht they fit tighter to the block for clearence with the right hand drive.

the "H" pipe looks a little different/better too.

and they use a 1 piece flange as opposed to the 6 individual ones

                        Yeah... There was that...

I've had all these issues (except for the shiny shit... that's stupid) with top of the line headers as well.

(I don't think I had a fit problem with these though... I think that was someone else)

EDIT: Oh my god... I'm defending the Chinese... I'll shut up now...

I keep hearing that (quality headers not sealing right) but I've never seen it. even my IE shorties seal really well..
