I though about selling the s14 and going back in with a turbo M50 that I had plans on going in the cabrio. Even thought about fiberglass molds of the rear flares and fenders. all in all the car is NOT so far gone that saving it is out of the question. I will entertain offers on motor through PMs.

I admire the fact he wants to restore it. Hell I know what I have spent to get my rather nice unmolested '91 325i in the shape I want it to be in and it is a staggering amount to date and it was in 1000 times better shape than that is when I got it a year ago.

Also not sure if you have emissions or not and how it works for you to get a title, but here you have to pass emissions before you can tag and title a car. And with the coin it is surely going to take it just seems risky to me.

And the fact the ad said no title and would have to apply for a salvaged title automatically makes it worth a small fraction of what one would for 20k+/- which is what you will likely spend on it.

That car if you keep the 5 lug/brake will still likely bring you 4k+ in parting it where spending 15-25k on restoring a salvaged title //M will only net you in the 7k range when done. I would sleep on it...

I would say that if the shell is clean (no major rust) go for it.... though that looks like some maaco paint job on it :-(

              How many miles? any records?

No title = track car or part out. Either way great score.

Track car for the win. I've spent at least 10k on parts for my pos so that thing would easily eat up 20k to do it write. But you could do a track rat s50 for 5k.

not sure what you all are speaking of, cause that car is at least 5x better shape than my car and you guys didnt give me a quarter of the negativity youre giving this guy. if it runs and drives youre good (better than me at least), alls it needs is a windshield and some paint to me. it appears that the cowl has been changed already. id be checking for license plate rust and in the fenders. and please rid yourself of those hideous wheels. and KEEP THE S14!!!

If it were my, I would look to turn it around immediately for a lot more than you bought it for. Throw it on s14.net and I'm sure you could find someone to make you a smart investor. Take the profit and put it towards a really clean example. You would end up spending much less.

Then if it were to not sell for a high price, then either a) Strip it and make a track car, or b) strip it and make it a parts car.

In Mo, getting an "abandoned" title is not terribly difficult, just takes a little time. You have to just know the procedures. I saw that CL ad, but M3's are too rich for my blood, I need to stick with simple, cheap cars.

Its really tough making a decision to rebuilt or part that car. But it really comes down to you. Alot of people can go out and buy a better example M3. But then alot of people dont have the money to buy the car. What am saying is that if he cant waste 15k-20k. He can put it into this one slowly.
