325ixA Stuck in Green River Utah (just outside [100miles] Grand Junction CO)

So here is our problem. Automatic transmission just crapped out. We were headed from Long Beach CA to Chicago IL and are in desperate need of HELP.

If anyone is able to help in this situation, please call (773) 983-3885.

car was running on cruise control, started making noises in trans, and then when we got off the highway and approached a stop sign, the car lost gear. Car was not able to move in R,N,D,3,2, and 1. got towed to the nearest shop (thankfully no charge) and car was on a flat bed truck (perfect). car now rolls in N and will go forward in 1,2,3, and D but makes noises in D and R.

Please help. We are actually stranded here.

    t.i.a. Joe.

    UPDATE

We are now in Denver CO. rented a budget truck and trailer. just got here, fueled up and it was over $100! we can't afford this. the truck alone broke us.

    If any sees this help......

                      EDIT

I actually walked over to the car which is about a 20 minute walk, checked the level of the trans fluid, its nice and red clear, and its topped off. at a loss here as to what is causing this.

Probably not what you want to hear, but Uhaul trailer rentals are pretty cheap, all things considered.
