    Getting the E30 itch again

Came across a 1990 325i(s?) 5 speed today for a good price. I know this was the first year with the airbag, but will the airbag light come on if I permanently disconnect the airbag? Would there be a way to bypass it in general? If I purchase this car, I would like to install the M tech II steering wheel again. The seller says the car is rust free, but that remains to be seen.

I've been without an E30 (previously owned a 1986 325es) since January, and I've been having withdrawls ever since. Even though the eta is the less desired of the E30's, I sure loved that car.

you can either remove the bulb, or put in a non-airbag check panel. I did both and removed the entire airbag computer as well. lots of people remove the airbag wheels - technically not legal, but who wants a 20 year old airbag blowing up in their face? not to mention, my car was pretty well smashed in my accident and the airbag didn't even go off.

So you miss your E30 so bad that you would buy an ETA?

I understand, I might too....as long as I had a 24 valve motor of some kind sitting in my garage.

I'm leaning more towards the plastic bumpers and the 2.5 motor. On the other hand, if I were to find a mint eta, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat. :D

Yeah, I vowed to myself that I'd never get another eta after owning two of them.

Oh I thought he was saying even though his previous E30 was an eta, he still enjoyed it.

Nope, he said he's looking at a '90 i. His old car was an ETA.
