    Burning oil!

First off, it's an Acura Vigor- trust me, next time it will be a bimmer!

I got an oil change 300 miles ago (good friend did it and i watched so he didn't f' up or anything)

I went to start it after work today and it r3v'd up then died

low and behold it's out of oil, no oil puddles in my driveway so i'm not sure where it's going, no black smoke or anything

suggestions and comments would surely be appreciated!!!!

Maybe someone stole your oil while you were at work. I think it is around $145 a barrel right now.

There would be no black smoke that is a sign that you are running rich. Any white smoke? How much oil did you put in the car when you changed it?

You should probably do a leak down test. You will have to probably take it someplace.

that sneaky bastard. thanks, and no smoke at all. i put the factory recommended amount of 4.5 quarts 300 miles ago and added 3 quarts today. hooray for car bills.

Vigors are great cars, if you actually know how to do an oil change.
If you were watching your friend do it to make sure he did it right, why didn't you just do it yourself?

my buddy has a vigor but he doesnt take care of it at all, hes the kind of guy that buys a car, but never cleans or maintains it, and pretty much just waits for it to die then moves onto another one

but hes not a car guy (obv), cars to him are strictly transportation from point a to point b

except if he had a e38 (his dream car), then id make sure he took care of it

as far as your issue i really cant say, sounds very mysterious, unless you lost all your oil in transit to work??

I dont know how much it will cost, but I'm sure there are a few E30's in the f/s section that will cost about the same ;).

Sounds like he didn't add enough oil. I bet you have three quarts in there but the dip stick wont show it.

Staci, just take it to Pete. Have him check it out, if its too costly of a fix just sell it and get something else. At least then you'll know the issue. If any besides low oil, was your oil light on?
