I disagree, our 2.5 STi has a much more useable powerband, less peaky.

I'd take an Evo because every magazine says it handles better. I also think the STi is one hell of an ugly car.

i read something about a new evo coming out overseas. said it has 330hp, running 21lbs stock. thats just insane, i wonder how they can afford to warranty that shit. it said the car costs $57,000 american.

The STi sound is to die for. I like the looks of the STi. I like the performance you get for the $$ on the Scooby. I would say I would take Subaru's reputation history and go with an STi if I were in the position to chose.

Drive both, don't listen to a messageboard.

I've driven the evo, and I loved it. Most of the mags seem to prefer it overall compared to the STi, claiming that it has sharper handling.

The RS model is supposed to hit later this year, weigh about 200 pounds less, give you a front LSD, and get rid of that gaudy wing, I'd probably look at that as well.

I was always fond of the STI. It just looks better stock in my opinion.

I like the looks and performance of both cars equally, but I chose the EVO because there aren't close to 50 of them running around town here, like the STi. There are only about 5-7.

                    STi

                    6spd vs. Evo's 5spd
                    more masculine, aggressive body.
engine better suited to daily driving, but +0.5L capacity also allows more tuning potential
supposed to be better on dirt, where it's meant to be

with that said, if I ever did own one, the hideous wing would be removed and the gold rims (yuck!) would be replaced immediately.
but what difference does my opinion make. I haven't driven either of them.

Would you buy a Jeep TJ as your family SUV because it kicks ass in 4' deep rivers? Just curious.

did you guys catch the new CAR with the EVO trq with 400hp and 0-60mph in 3.9 sec. Sick numbers, its their 30th anniv. car, and the WRX sti WR1 with 300hp, and 4.2 second sprint but stock the sti is better looking I think, looks like stink goes like stink.

Shahe, why did you ask this on here?

Did you really need the opinions of people who's only contact with these cars has been through magazines and Gran Tourisimo 3?

STi is pretty raw. No radio. Can get with out a/c. Cool little thumb dial to control power going to the front/back. Intercooler spray.

                                STi Spec C is hot.
