    Scorpion vs. Stromung...

Which would you rather have as an exhaust considering the sound/horsepower?...which is louder?... and which delivers a bigger hp gain...?

I'd like to know as well... I'm after a raspier exhaust (ie E46 M3 stock sound).

A cat-back exhaust really isn't going to unleash a lot horsepower on an E30....if you're lucky you can expect 1-3 ponies at the most. What you will notice is the enhanced sound quality. The real bottleneck in the system is at the cat. The factory exhaust manifold flows pretty well if your motor is (for the most part) stock.

I have a Stromung cat-back on my car.....love the sound too. It makes a nice deep burble at idle and a head-turning tone when on the gas. In the upper revs it starts to make a sound that I can never grow tired of ;)

I was considering a Scorpion system but the nim-rods over at BavAuto kept jerking me around for over a month with excuse after excuse about why they didn't ship my system.

Do they make a Stromung for the 318is? I haven't found one anywhere.

I do understand that the current stock setup removes a lot of backpressure, so all I'm after is a better sound.

The best source for Stromung exhaust systems that I know of is http://www.understeer.com. Unfortunately they don't have one for the E30 318is :x

          Maybe someone else may know.

You will not get anywhere close to this sound with a M42. It can't even try to touch the sound of a dual vanos, multi throttle S54.
            Sorry bud.

I can dream. :D I just want the closest thing I can get to that sound, that will fit the 318is.

to me, quiet, and overpriced (just like every aftermarket catback). to another person, its loud and a great buy. *shrug*
