speedo and tach not working

Maybe someone will have some insight to my little problem.

For what ever reason my Tach and Speedo have stoped working. All the other gauges work and Ive swaped in a new guage cluster and the same thing happens, no tach or speedo but everything else is fine. ( both cluster do function in other cars)

all my fuses are fine also. Is there a ground or power that the tach and speedo share? all my grounds above the brake peddle are tight.

is it just one plug that works the speedo and tach that you plug into the back of the guages? if so which colour plug isit and which wire would I be testing for power?

if anyone has any ideas about somthing to try that would be great.

Double check your fuses, i had the exact same problem it was a faulty fuse. Also is the rest of the cluster working?

fuel temp idiot lights all work. tach/economy/speedo not.

I'm assuming that "different guage clusters" includes a different, working SI board right?

yes.. both cluster work fine when put into another car.

Check the leads and solder points on the back of the cluster. If there's a disruption, theres your problem.

my cluster isnt the problem its else where in the car that is causing the cluster not to work..

does anyone know which colour pluge is the one that runs the tach and speedo?

where in canada?? make sure to check the fuses. that shit happened to be when i first bought my car.

kinda OT, but my temp gauge in my tach is pinned on red, any ideas?

everything works on my dash, but the milage isn't rolling over?!?! help me too

rebuild gears if the mileage doesn't work. And if there are no fuses blown wiring problem. I know i blew fuse 21 the other day, and my tach and speedo stopped working.
