Bridgestone RE750 any good?

Anyone have first hand experience with these?

How do they compare to ES100s?

I'm torn between 205/55/15 RE750s and 225/50/15 ES100s (RE750 is not made in 225/15).

(And yes, I've searched and read all the Tire Rack reviews.)

I like them and I believe they will last longer than the Yoko's. I have heard stories of Yoko's wearing out with in a year. Mine are still in great shape and I am comming up on having them for one year.

Supposedly a great tire, but like you said they don't have the wide range in sizes like the ES100's. This means no 225's for 15 or 16 inch sizes. :x

Check out the BFG G-Force Sport. New entry, very similar specs to the RE750, available in 225/50/15.

Bought them a few months back but they don't have but 300-500 miles on them. First impression was they felt a bit loose. After several days of driving I adjusted and they are fine. Maybe with more miles they will get even better.

I drove on them pretty thoroughly, in a lot of condition, with a mix of hard/daily driving on my mom's old A4 avant with suspension, on 18s and I can honestly say they are excellent tires.

Now, obviously being quattro...the effects will be different, but it's an excellent rain tire, and great dry road tires...and wore excellent, even on a quattro avant with too much neg. camber.

My dad also had the old version of these tires on his M3, and they had some fairly hard miles on them, and they never got loud...and lasted forever.

I'd definitely recommend.

I guess that depends on how cheap (or broke) you are. I'm not buying ES100s again.

You'll make up quite a bit of that in extra treadwear it seems.

I had 205/60-14, now I have 205/55-15

different strokes....

I've got 9000 miles of hard driving on my 205/60/14 ES100's and they still have ~20% tread left. and they are a hell of a lot better than the RE's.

I just don't think ES100s stick better. I had more understeer, and even more oversteer than I have with the RE750s. there were times when I left intersections going completely sideways, which isn't easy in a slushbox ix. It was fun I guess.

I havent suffered any serious hydroplaning issues. but why would you go 80+ in heavy rain? If its enough to cover the road to the point of hydroplaning, then likely visibility is just as poor... ;)

Once you "set" the ES' in a corner, they have excellent grip and feedback.

But in reality, both tires are cheap... so it doesnt matter.

seriously, I had no trouble doing 80 in a downpour when the road was covered in slush on my old Toyo's. I don't know that my new tires will do that well, but I wanted to try something else as it rains a LOT where I live so wet performance is as important as dry performance.
