I've had an experience with a Borla cat-back before......a number of years ago when I used to own a Porsche 924. Borla's products are well made. Its evident in the materials applied and the finish of the welds. The sound quality is good too....nothing that was obnoxiously loud, just a nice tuned sound.
I sure wish they made a direct bolt-on cat-back for the E30. Given my good experience with Borla, I would have on my car right now if they had a kit available.

is it worth the extra like 300 dollars to get the e30 specific borla cat back, or would just a normal universal borla muffler welded up by a shop do the trick? I think you can get a borla universal for around 175ish.

does Borla even make a cat-back for E30s other than M3s?
I'm running a Borla system (custom, not pre-packaged) and it sounds awesome. Gained 10hp over stock at the wheels too :D

which muffler are you using?
The muffler he is using is unfortuatly no longer made. Ted got one of the last ones. Borla implemented design changed into that muffler and it will no longer work without a lot of fabrication on an E30. :(
