The engines themselves are very durable. Its all the little expensive shits attached to the engine that become a problem.

Ok, the epa raiting is 11mpg city and 16 highway, can anyone agree or disagree with that cause it seems the EPA rating are generaly lower then the actualy MPG. For instance the ETA is rated at 18 city and 25 highway.97 tacoma 5 spd 4 cylinder

I've always felt the EPAs testing methodologies for determining estimated mileage to be a bit flawed - even their updated practices. It is really going to boil down to your driving style and habits. If you have a heavy right foot, you'll be on a first name basis with your local gas station attendant.

Yup, and since they made a total four V12's, parts can be mighty pricey.
It would sure scare me away from one. I'd opt for a E32 735i manual for my 7er fix.- Trey

The v12 is literally like a pair of siamese twins joined at the torso sharing waste down bits in the m20 variety.

My dad had an 89 750 for about 150k miles. Awesome car.
We really didn't have any engine problems. Rear u-joint was the most expensive item we had to replace because of failure. But he was sure to keep up with all maintenance items.
The problem for us was the lack of service shops who are willing/know how to service the beast. We got lucky and found one in our area.
That is about right for the gas mileage. 14-15ish.
EDIT: We sold it last year at 186k miles to an employees husband, he finally had to replace the stock exhaust system. Other than that, no issues.Comment
