will a 92' 525i Tranny fit an 89' 325i?

This guy has a transmission out a 1992 525 and if im not mistaken the 92' 525 has an M20 in it correct? if so can i use the transmission out of it and put it on my 325? is it a getrag 260? please let me know! thanks.

I believe 91+ 5ers had a M50. Not sure about which tranny that would be though. There is a good chance it will work. Search about it in the 24v section.

I think post-August '90 build date 525i's had the M50, and then the M50TU for MY93. They came with either the Getrag S5D 250G or the Getrag S5D 310Z. Not sure about E30 fitment though, not that it matters if you are using a M20.

Know what for sure? The car is clearly an M50-powered E34, your car is (presumably) an M20-powered car. Without some serious modifications, it wouldn't work.
