Does this look like a '91? Possible purchase.

I thought the bumpers were plastic on the '91's.. This is listed as a '91.. Here is the one I was referring to on a different posting.

This is the car I was referring to on a previous post as a possibility for buying. The last mileage read on carfax (which came back clean) before odometer broke was 119k in 2/05, place didn't know when odometer actually stopped working. Don't they typically go at 150k? Anyways here are some pics which may help with original question above.

Convertibles are different on the plastic/diving board years.

what is odd though is I saw a 91 318ic with plastic bumpers and then this 91 325ic, as long as there isn't any obvious foul play going on i'm not too concerned. Although the plastic looks sleeker.

It depends on the manufacter date.
Colored bumpers/newer front valance/fog lights: starting 10/90 build date. This was part of a significant change that impacted the front structure and rear structure of the body.

Mine was an 8/90 and had metal bumpers.

It is a '91. '91 was a switch over year.

My 6/91 has plastic bumpers. Plastic came on 10/90 production date and later for verts.

Conversion prices can vary according to where you find parts, color, shipping, labor etc. That car appears to be in great condition. If it has a recent timing belt, good interior, smooth operating top and drives out good, it would probably be a good purchase. Being at a BMW dealer, it was probably taken in on a trade and checked out before putting on the lot. If you like it, go for it.

The airbag steering wheel indicates at least a '90, and I think the rule is that there is no rule on odometer gears breaking. Even if it is an '87 and really has 340k on it, I would still buy it if it looked like that... that car is sharp! That interior is unusually nice. Doooo it

You can always paint the bumpers black.
