**Potential Purchase 325ic - please see pics for help **

Let me know your thoughts on this. Do you see any red flags? Do you notice anything odd with the license plate area? like a bend in the metal? Look at the engine as well, anything odd? I don't really know what I'm looking at. Thanks! this is the one i previously mentioned with the odometer not working, last reported reading was in 05 at 119k.

Its an 91 325ic, It does look repainted but who knows. What im wondering is why it was repainted if it was. As for the interior it is beautiful, and for the engine it could use a front cam seal if not already replaced!

On the bend you are talking about, it looks like someone possibly had a heavy metal being tossed around in the trunk, because it looks like a dent caused from the inside of the car.

Would a 91' have DB? I thought it was 90 when they got plastics... My 91' has plastics.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think in '91 they had an early '91 and late '91, which is what determined the bumpers. I know that the '90s are all metal bumpers still.

10/1990 is when plastic bumpers started. So unless it's a 09/90, then you'd have a point.

Not to come off as a dick or anything, but there is plenty of information on the internet (and this website) that will help you in buying an E30.

There are things to look for (rust, proper documentation, panels/paint condition, etc.) You don't have to post a new thread full of asteriks each time you make progress in buying an E30. When I was looking for mine, I searched around and found a multiple E30 Buyer's Guides that told me exactly what to look for.

The car looks quite nice, the interior seems to be in great shape. From the pictures, it looks like this car hasn't suffered from a leaky top.

                    Seats have been recovered.

Looks like it's missing the plastic cover/endpiece on the top boot lid.

Both of the square plastic flaps that cover the top frame holes are "sprung". They're supposed to lie flat when the top is down.

The left rear interior quarter panel is coming apart. The ring is missing for the top latch also.

What's stuck on the top left side of the dash? Is that an XM antenna?

Homoghey cupholder may be screwed into the console side. If it's taped, you're OK, but if it's screwed, you'll have holes when you remove it.

The rear speaker cover panel clips are a PITA

I removed mine and now use velcro strips to hold the panels in place.

                      Works much better.

For the asking price of that car, I would want some documentation/history of service and maintenance.

A lot of these cars are out of state, so it's tough to see them in person. I think I had asteriks on 2 posts of entirely different topics. I have looked up the guides, but it's also nice to hear direct experience from people who have been in the same shoes as I have. It seems like the majority of members here are very quick to help. I imagine that's what a general discussion forum is supposed to be about.

How much are they asking ? it looks pretty nice for a 90 , make sure the top is in good shape and find out when the timing belt was done last , other than that look under it to see if there is any rust under the rear quarterpanels , other than that see how it drives and don't be scared to get on it pretty good when test driving it to see if everything sounds good and see how it pulls. I would say a fair price to pay if all is good would be around 4500 to 5500 if you want it badly enough. just my opinion though.

Those parts together might cost, at most, $50 from the dealership.
