My 325e has turned me to the dark side.

I bought my 87 325e a year ago and before that i had a 88 300zx turbo that was quick enough to have fun with. Anyway after a year of driving the horribly sluggish 325e and seeing how much it costs to go turbo or make it anywhere near fast i have officially turned to the dark side.

I used to think domestics were lame and a waste of gasoline. Over the year of 325e driving and everything being complicated and expensive i have started to admire the simplicity and raw power of american v8's. I found a domestic that i could drive without feeling like a dumb mustang or camaro kid. Tomorrow or the next day i am purchasing a ford fairmont powered by a carbed 302. I though this day would never come.

I still enjoy driving the 325e and its looks but with how easy it is to mod the 302 i may never put another dollar into its performance.

So you came here to tell us about much more you like domestics now than E30s? Awesome. Door's wide open.

The 302 in it isn't all that high performance. It was just made to go from point a to b. It will need help of aftermarket performance parts.

Well, whatever makes you happy I guess. I don't know where everyone gets off with this notion that a 325e is horribly, pathetically slow, but if you like big V8 power and lots of torque, it might not be your kettle of fish.

Just as an FYI my 325E (chip and 3.25 rear end) is faster (barely) than my friends 85 Foxbody with a stock 302/5 speed. The 302 is decent motor, but unless you put every bolt-on imaginable on it it's hardly impressive. Also, a Fairmont will never be able to turn, so i hope you enjoy driving just a little bit faster in a straight line than you did in your E30 cause that's all it will be good for.

I bought my ford fairmont a year ago and before that i had a 88 300zx turbo that was quick enough to have fun with. Anyway after a year of driving the horribly sluggish ford fairmont and seeing how much it destroyed my social life, my family, my reputation and my career i have officially turned to the bright side.

I used to think e30's were lame and a waste of gasoline. Over the year of 325e driving and everything being completely awesome and miraculous i have noticed my social life is flourishing, my wife came back, people aren't afraid to talk to me anymore and I've been promoted 8 times. I found a car that i could drive without feeling like a loser. Tomorrow or the next day i am selling my ford fairmont powered by a carbed 302 and keeping my e30 forever. I though this day would never come.

I still enjoy driving the ford fairmont and its looks but with how easily it destroyed me as a person and everything i know and love i can't see myself owning anything other than gods chariot in the future.

I think you would have more fun investing in a M50 swap. Instead of buying this heap and spending a arm and leg on gas.
