I bought my ford fairmont a year ago and before that i had a 88 300zx turbo that was quick enough to have fun with. Anyway after a year of driving the horribly sluggish ford fairmont and seeing how much it destroyed my social life, my family, my reputation and my career i have officially turned to the bright side.
I used to think e30's were lame and a waste of gasoline. Over the year of 325e driving and everything being completely awesome and miraculous i have noticed my social life is flourishing, my wife came back, people aren't afraid to talk to me anymore and I've been promoted 8 times. I found a car that i could drive without feeling like a loser. Tomorrow or the next day i am selling my ford fairmont powered by a carbed 302 and keeping my e30 forever. I though this day would never come.
I still enjoy driving the ford fairmont and its looks but with how easily it destroyed me as a person and everything i know and love i can't see myself owning anything other than gods chariot in the future.
You are really that big of a loser huh?
My brothers had a Fairmont Fairlane, the longer nicer one. I remember you could fit like 5 people in the trunk. One of my bros wrecked it when it understeered like the pig it was into another car.
What is wrong with you? Out of all the v8's you decided to be dumber than mustang/camaro kids? Especially in Ohio, where rustles vehicles don't exist? ESPECIALLY FORD?
does an m50 really give you that much more power? i just looked them up and only the m50b25 makes enough power to make a difference.
a stock m42 makes 136hp out of the box and a m50b20/b24 makes 148hp thats a difference of 12hp
i bet i could turbo my m42 for the price of a m50 swap.
and this guy could definitely turbo a m20 for the price of a m50 swap
if he does it himself that is...
just a thought not a challenge or insult or anything

you should try looking at the m50b25 which is what normal people would swap in, or even an m52b28.

thats why i said "only the m50b25 makes enough power to make a difference."
my point being you still need to put a good amount of money into a m50 swap to make it actually fast, where as you can make a v8 mustang 500hp fast with a fairly cheap engine build and a good exhaust system. where as you would need to lower the compression in an m50 and then still spend $3,000 to $8,000 for a turbo kit to make it that fast.
again just saying man! no reason to be all "which is what NORMAL people would swap"
thats why i put "just a thought not a challenge or insult or anything."

Im sick of this argument. 325e is slow i don't care what they say. that's why they made m20b25. why would you buy the slow version of a car and then complain about how slow it is? If you don't want to do an s50 swap then thats your loss. good luck with the FORD and i hope you find what your looking for.
