-it takes more than you think to make a 500hp n/a ford small-block. Boosted, sure, big-block (351), sure, or spend some $, sure, but 350-ish hp is more reasonable for a 5.0 "cheap engine build"
-that being said, OP, I'm not going to hate on the Ford. Not my pick, but buy whatever you want with your money. I'm not a HUGE American car fan, but some are OK in my book. For example, my mom's '98 Olds Aurura with a 4.0 DOHC v8. Love that car!

I still love my e30 for handling and smoothness and taking the GF around with. Its not about my lack of ability to turbo my car, I am a mechanic for a living, i work on cars every day. For those of you who said "should of got a stang or camaro" you are the true dueshbags. I would never own either. The only reason i got the fairmont is because its not very common in 2 dr form. Im not about to sell the e30 or anything, hell, i needed a winter beater anyway and now i have one. I will be finishing my 327i stuff in a few weeks im just waiting on 2 parts that are in the mail. I was going to get some borbet type A's and then saw the fairmont for the same price. I have hated ford most of my life but i think they were somwhat solid back in the day.
I know its the boat, thats why i have the e30 for daily use and looking good. I am just trying something new. And cost of power 302 vs. m20 is not even comparable. Hell now ill have a car to drive while i mod the e30.
Also my e30 is not clean enough for me to justify a M50/s50 swap. Whoever said the 2dr fairmont weights 2550 lbs please link me because i don't believe it, feels like it weighs 3400 or so. Edit: just found a site that said with a 302 in it its around 2800 lbs.
And to the guy with the Jeep sig, are you kidding me, you have a chrysler in your sig, WTF?
Where is jason to back me up here.
I wasn't trying to talk shit on the e30, i would push the fairmont off a cliff to save my e30.
Edit: hitting 55mph in first gear is fun!Last edited by TopOfTheLine89; 07-28-2008, 09:35 PM.97 tacoma 5 spd 4 cylinder
