damn !!! $235 for a gallon of smaragdrun metallic !!

I remember the days when I could buy a gallon of Kirker acrylic enamel automotive paint in a "kit" and it was not more that $80 bucks, reds being higher. I just called a local paint store and they priced the emerald green at $235 a gallon for base coat. Clear coat is a $100 plus.....I thought I was on the downhill of this restore :(. At least I have all the tools / paint gun ect to do the job myself instead of paying someone. Im surprised they actually had the paint code on file since it was a euro color from 1987.(182) Anyone have any leads on cheaper paint

neat color. There may be something in there to make that particular hue that costs a lot - sterlingsilver was fairly cheap a year ago.

Back in 1997 I wanted to paint my little POS a color called Cloisonne Blue, found only on a certain year of Z-06 Corvette.

schwarz or black 086 <<Thats the next color Im calling on. I wonder if the smaradg is more expensive due to specific hue, kinda like the reds are always more expensive.

TCP Global has a paint kit in non-custom colors for $75 for a gallon of acrylic enamel, includes hardener and reducer.

I bought one quart of techno violet and it cost me 135 with a discount.
That wasnt including reducer or anything.
just for paint supplys on my engine bay I paid about 5-600.
all ppg paint.

I called yesterday and a gallon kit of acrylic enamel in bmw black 086 is $150 compared to the smaragdrun at close to $350. Of course I realize these are two different colors and types of paints. I also looked at the link above. $97 bucks for ice blue metallic, 25 bucks shipping. Not bad.
