Some of you may remember I posted years ago a totally destroyed E30 M3 in a local race due an accident happend where the pilot (I knew the driver) died. Anyways, this is from 1996 in an anual race year called "Caminos del Inca" wich it's a long long (kinda Endurance) race with different stages that last one week in different parts of Peru joining many states-citys.
Most of the race it's developed at high altitud, between 10,000ft and 16400ft of altitude.
This is a short video of 7 mins average of a incar video of the M3 chasing the Mazda FC 13B Peripheral with webber carb and the S14 was a 2.3L with Motorsport parts (builded in europe the entire car for rally specs) in alpha N mode with custom OEM Motronic or sort of....
As very short translate of what's being talked it's that the M3 had "road paper" ( I dunno the word for it in english) and the Mazda didn't so the Mazda was in disaventage (sp?) somehow that's why the M3 get closer very fast and passed over the Mazda, this was while both were climbing the mountain and about 10,000ft by the moment....later, at higher altitude you can see how the Mazda keeps more it's power than the M3 and just smoked it badly and pulled away...once the M3 reaches the highest point (altitude) and started to go downhill , with the big help of road paper on hand, started to chase the Mazda and pass over him again...those rotary engine are serious!!!
Portion of the race was in wet road conditions! In other section were dry.
And a bonus, a M3 AutoXing it some dude from here two years ago...just found it.
