Very simple, located on the back of the diff hangs by the fins about 1.5 inches long and 1/2 in wide. if it says numbers and S it's a LSD if no S it's not a LSD.
What diff ratio do I have?

LSD was an option on 318iS's. Many cars did not have them. They all had 4.10 small case diffs, some where LSD, some weren't.Comment

My old 325i had an LSD, this damn convertible has an Open Differential. I know that as winter was hell with the cabrio compared to the 325i sedan.
My cabrio has an automagic, is it a 4.10?Comment
