Any thoughts on what a 1990 325is should go for? The exterior of the car is in what appears to be good shape. A small dent on the trunk lid as well as some small scratches and paint chips. The kicker is that the car has 230,000 miles on it. Although it ran strong, I wanted some feedback on what you all thought would be a fair price.

Get more info on it. Take an even closer look at the car. Look for rust under the trunk lid and along wheel wells. Depends on where you're located if there'll be any.
Also, get some maintainence records on the car. When was the timing belt last done? With 230,000 miles, it'd be good to know the past of the car. If it's had a lot done recently, I'd say it would be worth 2500-2700 max.
What's he asking?
Basically, more information would be helpful to find a good amount of what its worth.- Sean Hayes

230k miles? $800.00 in my book. Sorry guys I feel a 88-90 with 170k on it is a 2200-3000 car. I look on some of the boards at asking prices of cars and laugh silly when I see them.
EDIT: At this mileage you are going to start seeing some more things fail then normal just due to mileage and wear and tear. Steering rack and column for one. Most definately all the rubber bushings in the car. Exhaust will be at the 2nd one by now maybe third.
Think hard on high mileage cars.

FWIW:
I bought my 87 325is with 220k miles, a wasted clutch slave cyl, and some minor body damage (dented fender, dent under tail light, bad paint) for $700.
I then had to replace all brakes, tires, control arms, water pump, t-belt, tensioner, tires, subframe mounts, shocks, fan clutch, spark plugs, air filter, control arm bushings, sway bar links, guibo, all fluids....
$1500 is what its worth for what you've describedBelow the radar...
