    Question for the gurus.

Will the stock exhaust from the cat back of a 84 318i bolt up to the cat on my 87 325e?

I'm running straight pipe, i just need some kind of muffler system to pass the emisssions system. Inside my bentley the flanges look the same, so it's got me thinking I may have a cheap solution. Thanks in advance. :)

no, yours is dual pipes, and the 318 is single.

      Wrong, Eta's had single piping.

OP, I as well checked with realoem, and they appear to be similar but I can not conclusively tell you one way or another. Wouldn't hurt to try though.

      Good luck.

You probably could but I doubt it's a direct fit. Muffler brackets are certainly different.

I'm sure you could fashion up some brackets for the sniff test though. I've seen some pretty amazingly crappy stuff rigged up for tests.

Hanging the exhaust up isn't a problem.. I just need to see if the flanges will bolt up. I need to pass emissions before the 15th!!! I miss driving her.
