    Quick Alpha-N Question

Alright, I did a little looking around and didn't find what I needed. I know Alpha-N is typically an E30 M3 thing, but can it be or has it been adapted for use on M20s or M30s? I ask because I have a very rare opportunity to score some NOS 45mm Weber manifolds for an M30, and Jenvey makes DCOE style throttle bodies that will fit. What's that? 100hp/liter M30? Sounds good to me too...

Alpha N is just a style of controlling fuel management using RPM and throttle position. That would all work but you would need a real standalone to make it worthwhile.

Thats one of the options, but the thing is you really need to be committed to a standalone EMS and even more so with MS since its so DIY. You need to really understand it and want to make it work.

you don't *have* to use alpha-N on ITBs. speed density can be used using a MAF sensor - and some people manage to get MAP sensors working ok with ITB's. As issac said, alpha-n is simply a method of controling the engine with RPM and throttle position, it's not specific to any engine or car. but any way you look at it, you'll want standalone EMS.
