    Eta

Just wanted to say-- I own an eta. Gas mileage plus. Came back from the Big Trees this week. 75 mph-34 mpg - from Fresno to Redondo Beach . Only time I've ever had anything to say about an e over an i. Won't last, I know. Probably regret it already, knowing you guys.- Steve

Yep, no matter how hard I beat on it I cant get less than 33 mpg.

Trey, the b25i motor shouldnt be that bad. Sounds like you need an S50/2--- gas mileage and performance :).

Wow, my eta can't get any better than 22 city, 25 highway :(

Edit: stock motor/diff/tire size but the car did have a 5-speed swap done. markD chip increased mpg a little, up from 19/22...

New rotor/cap/plugs/fuel filter/air filter/fuel pump/fuel psi reg... what else would affect mpg so much?

I love my eta motor, especially with the Turner Motorsport chip. Tons of low end grunt, and low highway revs at speed.

It should be noted that I only throw in $15 here, $20 there when it comes to gas. I rarely fill it up unless I have unusually large drug deal the preceding week.

Bad afm, coolant temp sensor (to dme), and maybe the O2 sensor can affect it.

I had a bad afm, so my car wouldnt run at all. I put in a spare b25i afm, thinking it would be ok, but not perfect. I was way off-- I got maybe 8 mpg on the highway. I was running very rich. So afm affects that quite a bit.

Coolant temp sensor will tell the injectors to stay open longer if the sensor is reading a temperature that is below what it wants to see.

O2 sensor reads the amout of hydrocarbons in the exhaust gases, and an incorrect reading can affect how rich/lean you are running.

I replaced the O2 sensor a few weeks ago and the coolant temp sensor a few months ago. Would having a 72*C thermostat affect anything?
