I was thinking of moving the rack to suit the tightening, but putting the old one back on is useless since it is a paperweight now. I think having access to one of those swivel head gear wrenches would do the job.

there is definetly space there for a wrench man. try again. i just did it for my s52 swap/95rack couple weeks ago.

Did you do it from under the car, or over through the engine bay? I am doing it through the bay because my bushings are still settling and I do not want to lift the car up.

You will have to bend the metal coil hose/cooler quite a bit. Just make sure you don't crimp it. Once it is right, everything (on my airbag car, at least) bolted right up. There is room for a wrench under there, so keep at it ;)

Thanks for all the help guys. But try to solve this problem. After removing my steering rack, I tried to bolt the hoses together, but found out that the high pressure hose (from pump to rack) WILL NOT bolt up to the rack. The threads in the rack are messed up and I cant bolt up the line. NOW WHAT DO I DO!!! Man, just my luck.

After searching, I found out that you can bypass the power steering pump by having the line connected to the reservoir only, then capping off the other hole. I might need to do this. Any insight about this?

so to address the origional problem for any1 else who cant get their CABs on, i was recently wrestling with my solid rubber m3 CAB install. cant use any kinda of permanent lube or grease on the rubber ones, and dishwashing soap wasnt working for me, sooo i sat there and thought hard and then i got it, KY jelly water based lube. worked soo easy i was pissed. for all you sexually active folks, this is a good alternative. worked like a charm, and since its water based, it just dries up and dissapears. bingo.
