Cut the entire front end off and clip-frame the bitch. Mount the motor low and futher back, and tub the rear end.

Be a hell of a drag car there.

I wouldn't mention the LS1 swap here. Last time I did, the flame came on strong.

Personally, I think it'd be sweet as hell, seeing as the LS1 fits so incredibly well in the E30 chassis.

Yea, this is strictly for fun, and to take to the 1/4 mile track. As for the 454, 426 debate, the motor had some work done to it, so i guess its a 454 now. Thats all my friends dad would tell me.

As for what to do with the frame, cutting off the front end and rebuilding it back up would probably make the most sense.

I would like to do like the m30 turbo and shit, but hell, ive got just about all the parts I need for free minus labor. i figure about 6months to a year would be long enough for something like this, considering im doing this all on my own time and with whatever extra money i have.

haaaa, the LS1 doesn't have anything against the Hemi power, dropp two Quadra (sp) Jets or a blower in the future, those emospherics powerplants will kick the LS1 with less money!!

Sounds like it'd be pretty damn sweet.

I am seriously considering finding a clean non running Eta someday and throwing a real nice Chevy small block in there/ That would be fucking sick. Just imagine the "wow" factor when they hear that cute little Bimmer pull up, especially with a decent cam, it would sound so mean. Fuck.

i was wondering if anyone was gonna catch that, i took four posts, you should all be ashamed of yourselves

if you want to do something like that, at least keep it in the family. a 4.4 out of an M5 would own anything on the street
                    what M5s have 4.4 liters.....tell me.

EDIT: The specs I found were wrong, it is 5 liters.

I seen the 4.4i in E30s online, and the M5 4.9L in E46 as well......but that would be insane if the S62? in the E30.

I'd want a 4.8L if I could, or settle for the 4.6i (stroked models from the X5s)

THough I would not do this to an e30. If I were to play with a domestic motor in another chassis, it would have to be an LS1 in a Datsun 240z
im with you on that one...small japanese car with light weight american muscle= god damn thats fast.

I had met a guy with an old 240, like the datsun style, with the body made of fibre glass and an ls1 under the hood. I never got to see it go, but it looked so mean

Keep it in the family. You could not put an american engine in an german car around where I live. The rednecks hate the BMW part and the other German car owners, mostly purists, would hate the American part.
