    what color

going to pick up an alpinweiss(sp) 318is this weekend, however this is the same color as my sisters car, so its getting painted, I can get it painted for free through a training program at an autobody school, and was wondering what everyones opinions were, im split between black and brilliant red. right now i have a brillantrot 318i, which i probably will be parting out so some of me wants to paint this one red, but i also love black e30s, what would you pick? I will have to pay for materials.

Body color change from people learning to paint? Really? I'd pass personally.

Black is hard to keep clean. Red looks really sporty on BMW. White is awesome cause it can be so dirty and still look clean. So stick with white.

        Arktissilber ftw.

The bottom car belongs to a member on here (SpasticDwarf IIRC,) his car is absolutely stunning, I feel honored being in the adjacent state.

point taken, its free, the car is going to cost me less than a maaco paintjob would cost

im not painting it fairy sky blue, so thast out of the question and delphin was never mentioned anywhere in my post....

the color is all personal opinion, and i happen to like schwarz or a bright red, so more than half the responses to this were erroneous

If you don't want opinions, don't ask for them.

The good thing about a paintjob like this is that they're going to redo it until they get it right. If they don't, you can keep taking it back to them.

i do want opinions, but not blue or silver, im just asking what you would prefer black or red, that Arktissilber is nice, but its just not for me. might be a little lame to get that //M color on a non //M car. however black is cheaper to buy then red correct?

So, what was the point of titling the thread "what color"? Are you asking us to choose between schwarz and brilliantrot? Neither. Pass.

Alpinweiss. Color changing is shitty, especially if you're getting it done by students.

yer gonna pull the motor for them to do this color change? if not, yer gonna go with such a drastic color change, and still have the engine bay/trunk/anything under a panel white? eh, if its a beater, just get it painted black.

i was gonna put in a lower mileage m42, so yeah i was gonna hopfully paint the engine bay myself, i may actually paint the whole thing myself, but its all about time for me to do it myself.
