Thats why the smart ones are now getting an e36 m3 from the beginning.

From my experience everyone is making their e30 look like a 325is with all the same mods. E30's are definetely more reliable and junker parts are easily available if it does break down. E36's re not so readily avaialable at your local pick and pull.

ive been working on my vert for months, there are tons of electrical problems and it needs new brakes. as well, yesterday was the first day I could get it to start on its own(starting fluid worked) I had to replace the fuel pump/filter/hoses and now it starts up. But sure enough the whole cluster is not functioning right, when it starts up it idles really goofy and dies within seconds and to top it all off the brakes are frozen or something and the car wont even budge...wtf! ive had better luck with vw's which is laughable but i wont give up on e30

wouldn't a 325is be a better choice if i were to sell at all?

thing is...i've put quite a bit of money into trying to fix this up, just in parts; radiator, oil pan, seats, control arms and bushings, tie rod ends...and i paid other people to do the water pump, shifter linkage, timing belt, clutch.
i'm making some progress, but each bit of my measly paycheck goes to the car and i feel disheartened by the fact that the money has only been to make the car run like it used to, and not on things that can actually make it go faster.

and verdier is just trying to hurt my feelings...i think i'll go in a corner and cry

I hate it but the fact is that chicks like the e36 more than the e30.
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.

BMW did not build the Etas to be fast, so it will not be fast without money and changing a bunch of stuff on the car. You can live with it work on brakes and suspension and have fun that way. A lot better in my opinion anyways. Straight line speed isn't something you will get easier or cheap. I mean you have a 20 something year old car. Hyundais come with 375 horspower now. I learned to live with it.

And fix everything that is broken and if you do it right you will not have to worry about it for a long long time. It is hard I know to keep dumping money into it but then its another thing that you won't have to worry about. I had to tow my car home after I paid for it, drive like a champ on the test drive.. go figure. But I have been like you slowly replacing everything, it even sat for about 3 months while I sorted everything out and now I daily drive it everywhere with no worrys.

im sorry that was mean. post some pics because i just imagine a crappy eta with diving boards that you are dumping money into and if thats the case the sell it and get an IS. I think the "I" motor is borderline slow so eta doesn't do it for me, that's why my fiance drives the "e" and I the "IS"
