I thought I had finished all my summer spending, but then, after a pretty bad spinout (no damage) in the rain last night, i couldnt put off buying tires until next year, So I bought tires, yoko avs es100's for my kopis. but then came another problem, my camber. I didnt want to go through tires yearly, so i bought IE's street camber plates, and a pair of offset strut bearings, that should bring my camber from -2.5, one degree positive, to -1.5 and give me relatively even tire wear for daily driving, but giving my the adjustability to go between, -1.5 to -3 degrees of camber if I want to do some autocross (which I plan to) so now, after winter tires, i should be all done spending (big stuff), it sucks when you end up spending more than you want ($775 for everything), but I think these are a good, long term invesment. just thought i'd share.
just when I thought my summer spending came to an end...

Phew, I was afraid I was going to find a wrecked E30 in this thread.
Every upgrade is worth it, whether it seems like it at the time or not. :)

i dont have that kind of money to blow, that's the problem, im pretty mad at myself for spending it, but it really couldnt be put off anymore, i cant afford tires every year, so the camber stuff was a must, and the tires were definately a must.Originally posted by SpencerI wish I had that kind of money to blow.
I have to save for school (only 6 years to go)
Good Luck with the new parts!

Just look at it this way. If you crashed your car in the rain because of bald tires, you would be out a lot more than $775... just picture the the damage and $775 starts looking like cheap insurance for inteligant purchases.Originally posted by DanGillani dont have that kind of money to blow, that's the problem, im pretty mad at myself for spending it, but it really couldnt be put off anymore, i cant afford tires every year, so the camber stuff was a must, and the tires were definately a must.Originally posted by SpencerI wish I had that kind of money to blow.

yea, i have NO! regrets about buying tires, i just didnt wanna spend the extra 350 on camber plates and offset strut bushings, but it'll save the tires... no, I actually dont regret anything, I just dont have that money right now considering im going to school in 2 weeks...Dan

Your car isn't low enough to need camber plates to ADD camber, if anything you should use them to add negative camber. You guys and your tire wear are pussies :) Don't lower your car if you don't want your tires to wear faster.Comment

my car is DEFINATELY low enough.... each fender is about 23.2" off the ground.... why would I not want camber plates? what is the sense of tire wear if it can be prevented? i dont have money to kill, i need to add positive camber for lots of highway daily driving, id go through tires yearly, plus I want the adjustibility for autocross/track stuff.Dan

Hey man, i wouldnt complain :) Here's 4 degrees of neg camber and this is WITH eccentric Trailing arm bushes dialing out as much camber as they can. . . .
The car is completely on the ground though - wouldnt be many e30's lower than it.
