M20 Rebuild kit. (Where to get it?)

I need a rebuild kit for a m20b25 or whatever... 325i motor. And I am trying to find a place to get it from? I don't want to pay bavauto prices because they're generally a little pricey, so I was wondering if you knew where I could get a pre-composed kit of all the bits I'll need. I'm doing an m20 swap into my 318i pretty soon (in the spring.) and I'm trying to get my final bits together. But I'm also trying to get the engine rebuilt, just for reliability. I heard that it was partially rebuilt before I got it - but I don't trust that further than I can chuck the engine... which isn't very far - for the record (about the distance it would roll off my corpse after it fell on me and crushed me.) Anyhow, if anyone knows where to get that shiz, I'd appreceate it. :)

bavarian engine excahnge has them, search them up. it will be cheaper to complie your own set, or even swap to m50 engine out of a later 325.

Welllllll I'm too poor to get a new motor at this point, I've got an m20b25 in my garage, and almost finished compiling the collection of parts I need. I'm not starving for power, and I can't afford to do things twice anymore, so i'm stuck. But I will check out that bavarian engine exhange. do you have a link?

Buy a used m20b25 then, you are going to pay more to rebuild the damn thing

either swap to a better motor or just but the lowest miles long block you can find (100k would be ideal)

yeah, i mean how much is the rebuild ki.....and then it woiuld bne a lot of wpork.

i thought m20s went for $400 used, or maybe more, but like a M50 can be had for $800-1200.....so might as well uprade

Bavarian Engine Exchange charges a lot for a rebuilt motor consisting of questionable parts. Do business with them and you'll get taken to the cleaners. Take the advice of others:

                  1. Build up a stoker with some eta bits, or...

                  2. Find a solid core pulled from a wreck. You can locate something with less than 100K miles if you search thoroughly. This alternative shouldn't set you back more than a grand for a complete engine with manifolds and harness.

When I was seariching a while back to buy the parts individually there around $500 from the cheapest online places, this was gasket kits, bearings, rings, headbolts, watter pump, t-belt, tune up parts and some more.

A used M20 is not the same as a rebuilt M20. The newest M20 is about 11 years old right?

Used engines are like dating whores. They've been beat and are loose. I'd take an 18 year old virgin over a 40 year old mother with 7 kids, wouldn't you?

Rebuild it. You will have peice of mind, which is totally worth the extra price.
