Lost $200 at the casino

I went to play poker at the casino last night on the 3/6 tables. I won some hand and was up but after that started getting beat hard and lost all my hundred. After that, trying to win my money back I got out another 100 and lost that too. Well, I stopped after that but shit I could have had a new pair of springs for that. Oh well, shit happens.

Anyone else have any bad gambling experiences?

Not much point in gambling... I get no enjoyment out of it. Went to vegas a few weeks ago and was up my first night. Lost most of it back to the casinos, and decided that was enough fun for me.

Don't see much point in telling everyone how much you lost tho... unless you are proud of it.

I have never been to the local casinos. I have only been to two in Vegas (Bellagio because we were staying there and Paris because it was across the street).

I gambled about $10, made $25. Figured that was good enough for me so I spend the rest of the $500 alotted for gambling on clothes you cant find back in KC.

Remember - they can't pay for rent, staff, etc. unless they are making money. They are only in business to make money so in long run they win.

I usually won't take more than $20-$40.
Last time I was there, a guy walks up, sticks a few random $1 chips on stuff, and $18 on a number. It hit the number, nobody could believe it. He won like $650. Lucky bastard. :twisted:

There is nothing like gambling! I dont go often but when I do I have some serious fun. I go about twice a year or so and go with an amount of money I am ready to lose. Its all entertainment, just that this is a really expensive form of entertainment.

The second to last time I went I won 2.5K started out with $100!! Played for about 10 hours straight!!!



The last time I went I didnt do so well.... I was up a lot but got a bad streak, I got to negative $500 and said fuck it and walked.

Gambling can be fun....providing you know what you're doing. Its part luck and part stategy and part discipline. The luck part is obvious: never know what you may be dealt. The strategy is observing the win/loss patterns of the dealer versus the players at the table. And the discipline comes from not throwing back too many of those free drinks. Casinos know once you get liquored up you'll be easy to manipulate into spending more.

The key when gambling is knowing when your luck is starting to slide and you back away....thus minimizing your losses. Same goes if you're on a winning streak. You have to leave while you're ahead. If I've done well at a blackjack table then suddenly get 2 or 3 crappy hands in a row, I take my winnings and walk....maybe tip the dealer if I've done particularly well at that table.

The very worst I've done at a casino was breaking even at the end of the night.
