don't box it, just wrap the hell out of it in bubble wrap + tape.

If you really want a box, maybe a body shop or dealership parts dept, they might have a box that a bumper of qtr panel came in. Other than that, an appliance store will have refrigerator + LCD tv boxes which you can cut + use to make a box.

Good luck. I couldn't find any so I ended up trying various car dealerships and asked for the "bumper box". It was more than big enough for a valance so I had to cut it down to size but it was free.

your better off trying dealerships in the morning that's when they get all there parts in for stock. i know in my dealership the boxes are cut and gone by lunch.

true true. i thought i would ask them. but knowing my local stealership, they would be like "yeah sure you can have the box!

after you buy the part thats in it!"

i tried shipping one and it was quoted at $200+, UPS is a rip off. mine was packed it bubble wrap so it was smaller and they still wouldn't ship it for less.

was it loaded with the scoops, fogs, and other shit? this thing is stripped bare, primered, nothing else but the little plastic gromets. no clips or nothing. hell, i took the screws out for uber weight reduction.

shipping i quoted around 60$ without a box or packaging. just getting a box is a pain in the fuckin ass

it ain't rocket science.......basic math maybe.

Go to UPS.com or Fedex.com and enter the ACCURATE dimensions and an estimated weight (actual weight for something like this doesn't really matter- you're gonna get charged because it's so large)- it will give you an accurate price if you give it accurate data. It cost $$$ to ship large stuff, you gotta pay for the space on the truck or a portion of the truck's weight capacity.

The only way to get around this is to take it to a packing store or Fedex Kinko's and hope that they don't measure the package- pay for it IN CASH and get the hell out before they realize their mistake. If they quote you a low price and you send it out but bill it to an account or a credit card, they can and will re-rate the shipment somewhere along the way and you'll be squeeling like Ned Beatty in his tightey whiteys.

Our dealership does not take parts like that out of the boxes; we remove the parts to check for damage, but they go right back in until they are sold. We do not even allow the customer to take body parts without the box because they always damage them in transit and try to pin it on us.

As stated before, I think you'd have more luck at a body shop since they usually cut up and toss the boxes after they use the parts.

Yep, we get bumper and body part boxes every day. Any dealership should have a few each morning. I personally would bubble wrap the shit out of it, like Rigmaster suggested. And pack it with tons of packing paper (The dealership should have that too), and then put in the box. UPS fucks things up, its like they TRY to. If you dont have 2" of cushion between product and BOX (no box = no insurance claim), they will bounce any claims for insufficient packaging.

edit: looks like Im too late lol.

Call Bax Global for a shipping quote. You'll need the dimensions of the box and weight(bathroom scale is close enough) If you can drop it at their terminal, they have one at most major airports, you can't beat their rates! the rate class for auto parts is 85.
