    the left front wheel bearing has play because you took the axle out... if you roll a car around with axles out you should bolt the bearing together.... looks like a fun project though.... best of luck, and I hope you aren't setting the cylinder head down on the valves

      Woah! I had no idea that's what a VR6 looked like inside, that piston orientation is crazy! I'd just never seen one taken apart before.

      Leave it to VW/Audi to come up with all the wild-ass engines. :D

        No both sides are out and the other side has no play, its all disassembled.

        Its not on the valves, all of them are shut and its propped up on one side so they aren't touching the bench.

          Yeah, I don't personally like it very much. This engine is a bitch to work on, everything is just ass backwards. Nothing like dropping the tranny to change a timing chain out... Atleast I don't have to do it with the engine in the car lol.

                Yeah, but you can't be a 20v 5cyl ;) Audi did those way before VW did. Granted its basically the same company.
