alright, ive got a couple questions about 325is' after looking at some sites. i went to the BMP design site and for engine parts, exhausts and such they have them listed as available for the e30s and i see only the 325i listed and no 325is, is that because they are essentially the same and they will work w/ either or like jetta and golfs? sorry for my ignorance, im trying to learn :? also it says that the body kits are for the 84-89 325is, is that because there were slight changes in the body for 90 and 91? ALSO, where are soem good places to look around for body kits and see examples? ive been trying to do research but ive only came across about 3 kits, i just want to look into this stuff before i sell my jetta and buy an e30 325is.

For pretty much every mod is interchangable between 325i and 325iS cars. The body change updates were in 1988, so a kit should either fit 1984-1987 or 1988-1991.

also, are there many more places besides bmp and that bavarian auto place? im j/w, those were the only 2 i found. what are some other ones to check out for some nice e30 mods, including wheels? im just trying ot put together an estimate of what itll cost me to achieve what i want if i pick up an e30Comment

Check out www.tirerack.com for rims and tires. Also, the Classifieds section on this site has a LOT of good parts. Check that out too. For body kits, I'd try www.mms-tuning.com. They are really the only one in the US off the top of my head that carries a lot of kits. There aren't many E30 guys out there with kits, most stick to stock aero pieces like M-tech II and the spoilers that come on the 325iS's. A lot of the good kits (Breyton, AC Schnitzer) aren't really available new anymore, you have to find them used online (or in junkyards in Europe).Comment

most people pick up there wheels from either ebay or tirerack. but if u go with ebay, make sure not to get any knock off honda rims with huge spacers and shit like that.
when it comes to body styleing most people do stick to stock pieces. pieces like:
all the 'is' equipment like. "is lip", "is spoiler" and the very rare "is skirts"
mtech 1
mtech 2
euro bumpers
or go with:
alpina equipment
bmp stuff is nice, but apparently the front fits like shit. the rear and sides usually work though.
and for future reference, the body styles were like this.
84-87 had big nasty aluminum bumpers. most people with the aluminum bumpers upgrade to euro bumpers and try and get ahold of mtech 1 or alpina pieces. another route u could go is do a 89-91 plastic bumper swap. the front is a direct swap but the rear requires some work to get it right.
88 models had the different body styleing including the changed taillights and lower rear fender arches. but still had the aluminum bumpers.
89-91 had plastic bumpers + the changes that were made in 88.
btw, cabrio styleing is a littttle different, but i dont feel like talking about it righ tnow.
so just search around for this stuff and u should come out ok.98 M3/4/5
