Nice! I'm so jealous! When I go to Europe, I won't leave until I've been to the ring, that looks insane.
I don't know about the race car part...But the m6 had the same engine as the m1.engine was from a M1 race car, and had a M6 head??
And why no pictures of the TVR???? On the right

wow. i cant wait till i get a run on the track! what were your lap times?Comment

You don't get timed on the Nurburgring. In fact, I think timing and photography are strictly prohibited. As you see we broke the photography rule...
...I think we timed my second lap at about 10:30. Though, It was only my second time on the track (third lap). I also am no professional, by ANY means. I go pretty slow, I really dont wanna crash haha.alexw

That's mostly true. Early Euro E28 M5's and E24 M6's ran M88 engines. Later catalyst-equipped cars (and all US-market cars) got the S38 engine.
However, the M1 used the original high-compression M88, which was good for well over 450 hp in race trim. AFAIK, early Euro M5/M6's used a lower compression version of the M88 before switching to the S38.
I'm guessing that what this guy did was to take the high-compression M88 shortblock from an M1 and stick on an S38 head and intake plenum. That way, you get the dual-row timing chain and probably also a wider power band due to the intake (just guessing). Maybe the S38 head also flows better? Again, that's just a guess.
EDITED: Now that I think about it, he probably just had a cracked head on that M88 and couldn't find an original replacement. Now he's trying to justify the hybrid. ;)sigpic

If you ever get the chance to, be sure to go! If nothing else, go to Germany and take the ring taxi!
No clue bro haha.
Awesome, maybe I'll be seeing you around when I head back to the states for good!alexw

It was dragging on the way to Munich (I also posted pictures of that a few weeks ago).
Yan and sl0ride wired it up at a gas station on the way to the BMW Museum. He's got a new exhaust he's waiting to throw on. It works, we didn't have any problems on the way to the there or on the 'ring!alexw
