Looks great Mike!! Although I gotta say I'm scared of ever sending my car over now.

I remember their faces when they saw the Chevy truck, I cannot imagine what they do when they come across that thing!!!

Sick plans. Are you doing anything to the powertrain with the body/suspension stuff, or is that phase 2?

the motor is already pretty stoutly built as well as the trans.(330hp stock) now with a cam/headers/allu intake. I am going to pull it out and re- ring/gasket it. from it sitting so long I think the rings are siezed to the pistons and it is pumping oil out of the breathers in the valvecovers.
I have been reading alot about turbo charged with blowthrough carbs, and after the build of my M20-- I might just twin turbo it--- a few years from now.

I am making sure that everything I do that isnt "period correct" is going to be easily removable-- I promised to my father I wouldnt butcher the car-- he is pissed enough about airride.---- but absolutely freaked when i contacted him about finding me a straightaxle so I could gasser style the car--- the reason I am going to put in on airride now.

I love the useless style of this!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the car was rebuilt over 15 years ago, and then just sat- so i am going to need to replace most of thje bushings again anyway-- this time it is all going to be done with poly bushings--- already ordered a bunch-- but this stuff is expensive

right now the car is just going to be more of a cruiser/ daily when it is sunny.

I have my turbo car to beat on in a straightline, and the m3 for nice cruises in the countryside, and realize that a 55 Chevy is not a handling or a race car without ALOT of cash. I kinda feel the same about it as my M3-- I feel it is just too nice and too much a part of automotive history to just beat on it "like it should be"
I am really happy to own 2 cars "in my eyes" that are HUGE parts of the "best" cars built by my 2 favorite car manufacturers.

Erick, i had planned that it was going to get a few battle scars from the shipment here ( learned that being in the Army-everyones car gets dented from the shipping company) but I never thought there would be some ass to just outright steal everything out of my trunk-- (the car was in an enclosed container for the boat ride, and I showed up the very next day it arrived in europe to pick it up just to try to prevent something like that from happening.

          haha

I should have WELDED my trunk shut I guess.

I am a huge fan of the gasser style as well. But, I'd think your pops would hate to see you hack the already hacked 1/4 panels to move the rear axle foreward 9-12". That would be something to scare those Germans.

I can't seem to find the one car I'm looking for.

Mike, let's be real... unless something changed in the last few years... you don't quite "baby" that M3 when its out of storage (that two week period out of the year :p)

That thing did get sideways once or twice... and I think I even have it on video ;)

gassers are the shit. but i dunno if id hack up that thing to do that. They make tons of dropin airride kits for these now.

Cheater panels just patch panels, that were alot cheaper and easier to install than an entire quarter assembly. youre supposed to remove the wrinkled or rotted panel and lap weld the cheater to whats left, but alot of people just put it over the old rotted panel and let the trim hide it. pretty gay but you see it alot on old backyard restos.
