Its worse than I initially imagined. probably need a new radiator support, grille, hood, I THINK left fender, and Im sure misc armatures and what not. Id think around $3k in damage if done by a body shop. Im totally guessing though. It looked like he was lucky to get away with no injuries.

Radiator support, grille, and hood for sure. I can't honestly remember if the left front fender was messed up, but if it was, it was subtle. Like I said, the door didn't close right so there's got to be something bent in that area.

To be honest, the impact was not violent at all. It didn't feel anything like what I would expect an "accident" to feel like. I had slowed down a bit before impact, so it wasn't exactly at highway speed. The airbag didn't go off or anything and there was no soreness from the seatbelt.

Like I've said, fixing it just wouldn't be a good investment. I don't have the time to do it myself and the car is going to be given a salvage title so its resale value will be greatly decreased.

*Update: I just drove the car home from the shop today, so we should be finalizing all the paperwork next week. I faxed them a few listings on autotrader and cars.com for 3 and 4k so they've raised the check by $200, which is a nice bonus. So now I have to decide exactly what to do with the car. How do people usually handle a part out? Once everything is gone do they just get a flatbed to bring it to a wrecking yard or what?

Also, if anyone would consider buying the car as is from me, send a PM. It drives just fine as far as I can tell - no overheating. However, anything further than santa maria or paso robles might be a bit risky

Yes, I am buying it back from the insurance company. But I'm still deciding on whether or not I'll part it out myself. I'm going to have to weigh the value of parts vs. the time it'll take to get everything sold. I'll try to get pictures up tomorrow.
