a stock car understeers a bit.. the offset bushings helped quite a bit though, as does the extra 34mm of track I got from my ET24 wheels. losing weight over the front end helps too (auto to 5 speed conversion, lightweight body panels, ditch the a/c etc). eventually I'll add a rear swaybar, but the car is fairly balanced right now so I'm not sure how big I want to go. don't think of the understeer as being like a FWD car, because it's not. most of the power goes to the rear wheels anyway, and power oversteer is pretty easy if you know what you're doing.

aside from that, it really doesn't feel too different from any other E30. the steering is a little heavier (which is fine, everyone bitches about how overboosted E30s are). Otherwise, the car has a very sure-footed feel. You'd have to drive one extensively to understand, because it's hard to explain. yesterday, a guy in a corvette learned the hard way, trying to follow me around a corner and spinning out. heh.

That's happend to me before. Too funny.

I've heard the same thing happen to E30 M3 owners. Some guy went to the dealer for a part for a '89 M3. When the parts guy asked what year/model is the car, car owner says "1989 M3." Parts guy says: "That's impossible....M3s only go back to 1995." Car owner says "I've got proof that you're wrong parked right outside."

Yep....those dealers are right on top of things

          Jon
Contrary to popular belief, there are some bright people in dealership parts departments...

And besides, do you really think that some parts people, who probably dont give a rats ass about BMW's outside of work, really care about old shit?

The other piece goes on top of the battery cover. Common on EU spec cars. It holds the first aid kit in place and a few other items.

Never seen a cover for the jack...but it might exist.
