I don't understand how people can sit here and say they don't drop the car at all, are you seeing the same thread as me? I'm tucking about 1/2" of tire in the rear with m3 springs, granted I have subs, but I've had them in and out for months at a time and it doesn't make that much of a difference. Pic posted is no subs.

I can't speak on the fronts, because I have those Bekkers spring hats^^ in addition to the m3 springs. With the combination I measured 5" from the ground to my iS lip. And btw I have zero complaints about the hats, and they have not been modified.

Although I think this thread calls for some clarification, some people run e36 m3 springs, others e30 m3, mine are e30 m3...They get mixed up in almost every thread I see about this.

If you knew how much I had to do, and how little time to do it in, your head would spin (as mine does).

every e30 sits at a different height after 20+ years. some cars could have had cracked springs 10 years ago and recieved new ones, whereas most crapbox ETAs probably have sagged out old springs. I have seen 316i cars that look like 4x4s with stock suspensions, and I have seen plenty that look o.k. without a drop.-- heck, if e30s cracked springs just 10% of what e46 cars do, then every 5 years we would have changed them out.

and rear springs dont count-- i was talking about the fronts--M3 is a 40mm drop over stock (original)-- just like the M tech suspension-- and that is with the "lighter" S14.

and 40mm isnt low at all over stock-- 80mm is just starting to look good.

40mm ~ 1.5", not a bad drop to clean up the front-end of a daily

yea, 40mm is a common drop, well, slightly less than most I guess, but more than m3 does, 80mm is pretty big...You can't even buy 80mm drop springs for e30s, But I see what you're saying about the front, I have no idea, so I can't really say.

someone with m3 springs and 195/55-14 tires care to measure the ground-to-fender peak length?

It would be more consistent to do centercap to fender, and works with any tire/wheel size.
