Just wanted to see if anyone has M20 Metric Mechanic engine installed in their car and what they think about it? Worth the Money? Anyone have dyno stats? Actual Top Speed and 0-60. Thanks!

I don't have their crate motor, but I'm using their pistons for my 2.8
210bph (much less at the wheels, silly awd), top speed is unknown, somewhere north of 135 (E30s are aero limited anyway). my one and only 1/4 mile was a 15.172 (it's a lot harder than it looks!). The big things I could improve on are the exhaust (i'm using an older/garbage IE shorty header design with a 2.5" Y pipe, stock 200k cat) and a better tuned timing table when I have a chance to go back to the dyno. and of course less weight :p
if you just use motronic to run it, expect less than 200bhp. Jim also likes wierd cam profiles, probably for emissions reasons. I went with a schrick instead (dbilas and catcams are also nice) for better performance.

nando, I know I've PM'd you with multiple questions about your stroker build, but did you put the engine on a dyno for the 210 number, or is that just a best guesstimate based on approx % drivetrain loss?Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

I'm running a 2900 sport engine built by MM and it is great. Runs strong and no problems. I can slip the tires going into 3rd. I experience a slight loping due to the cam but that is expected. And as for the 0-60 I'll try to run it soon.-tim

Well it's expected in a higher performance engine, but you have to run premium since it's 10:1 which doesn't bother me. You can definitely feel the power boost and with the D'sylva chip they put in there you can hit 7200 rpm if not more. As far as pricing goes it's a bit too rich for me. The PO is a friend of mine and he is moving to snow covered grounds so he needed to sell cheap. I got a steal on it. In my opinion i would just go s52 swap but i'm not sure how i match up against one (there isn't too many around where i live). and i attempted the 0-60 on my way home the other night and got pulled over at 52. $225 out the window but atleast he only wrote it for 5 over. feel free to ask any other q's. and i'll try to get some pics and video up here before too long, maybe some true dyno's.-tim
