    OBX M42 Turbo Manifold

    Hey,

I was considering building a manifold myself, but I'm not trusting my craftsmanship. Does anyone have experience with this manifold?

    Thanks

Well, I don't have any experience with it, but one thing is for sure; it's cheap. In this day and age on ebay you get what you pay for.

I would definitely check and make sure that it will fit the e30 chassis. I was under the impression that there were no mass produced manifolds for you guys.

...and if you go for it, just remember that you will probably have to "clearence" your front fender and wheel well with a large hammer. The M42 doesn't leave much room for a turbo.

I think the turbo mounts down below, there's a lot of space there. At least thats the impression the down pipe gives me.

I would def. add some braces and welds to that, for longevity

Why in the world would you ever have to "clearance" the fender for anything to do with the engine? That's ludacris.

I'll try to find pics. Nevermind what I said, though. I only glanced at the link and assumed it was a top mount manifold. I have seen people bash the inner fender in in order to fit a turbo in there with a top mount turbo manifold. I really don't know why anyone would do that, but they do. This one should be fine, and actually looks pretty good.

They can't be worse then the no name chinese ones that supposedly break all the time. I've seen one on a car thats been going for 15k not one problem, just added a brace.
