    Monitor making high pitched sound

ok my monitor just started making this really high pitched noise that is incredibly annoying and is killing my ears. it only happens when i have windows opened, if i have all the windows open it doesnt make the noise. also it doesnt make the noise when a program is like totally "taking over" the screen, like when im playing a game. anyone know wth this is or how to fix it if possible?

    thanks

Try the "degauss" function. You access it through your monitor settings buttons below the screen. See if that works.

we had these problems at school with viewsonic monitors... there was too many hertz. Also there was too much white/not enough contrast which was putting out an faint but annoying high pitch sound.

        try changing your refresh rate...

or your flyback transformer could be on the way out...

Either too high of a refresh/resolution, or the flyback is starting to fail
