        best aspect of m5x engine = timing CHAIN not belt! BTW BMW Blue coolant EATS plastic parts! Better to get regular GREEN coolant (non phosphate) and use distilled water and change it every two years... :)

            BLUE Coolant from BMW IS phosphate free.. thats why they sell it for BMWs....

            But keep it 50/50 with distilled water just in case

              its not the phosphates that eat plastics. its a "plasticiser" called 2-EHA. WHY BMW puts it in the coolant is anyone's guess, but anyone will tell you newer (e36+) BMW rads, reservoirs, and plastic-impeller water pumps are GARBAGE (eaten up and thrown away). Well, with 2-EHA in the mix, its no wonder! The mind boggles ... Why God (BMW), why?????

              SKIP the Blue smurf blood, save your money and your plastic cooling system parts. Use phosphate-free, AND 2-EHA-free, silicated Ethylene Glycol and DISTILLED water. And CHANGE IT every two years... :)
