Need an opinion: 325is or 325i convertible

Ya usually when people think of a "sports car" they usually think of a convertible and not a two door sedan. I do agree that if you want to take it to a track or autocrossing then a coupe would better suit you.

I dont think Ive heard of one person that thinks of a convertible as more performance oriented than a 2 door hardtop. Because thats what I was talking about. Not "sports car" by definition. Austin Healeys, Caterhams, etc. I get it.

Why do you think Chevrolet made all of the early Corvettes convertibles only, and later gave them optional HT's?

It's because the common definition of "sports car" is basically a 2 dr, rear wheel drive, manual transmission convertible.

BTW, I can add aftermarket shocks, springs, sway bars, bushings, etc...which will give my convertible handling better then that of an "is", as well as adding a removable hardtop, but you can't make an "is" a Cabrio, now can you?

How many people with a sunroof end up with water on their floorboards when it rains?

Funny how HT's end up leaking more water into the cabin then cabrios do.

Exactly. Opinions were given, and I can respect people tastes by all means. But some people just cant handle the fact that other people dont agree with them. OK. Lets make this simple. Fuck what other people think. Get what makes you happy. If its a convertible then fuck yeah go for it. If its a hard top, then do that too!! The only thing that matters is what you want and makes you happy and works for you!! Just dont tell Joseph Stalin over there.
