    IS front spoiler theft

have any of you guys had your IS front lip been stolen?
i know theyre relatively easy to take off a car, and if you really wanted to steal one, it wouldnt be hard at all.

i just got one for my iX, and after i parked my car at school, i passed 2 325is that had NO lip at all. I seriously doubt the drivers would have known though if they were gone, so I began to wonder if they had been stolen.

Am I just paranoid or is this a semi-common occurence?

You're probably being paranoid. At least two times I have seen people in is-lipped E30's nearly or completely pull the front lip off via a cement parking divider.

It's an easy part to steal, but I doubt many thieves are aware of its relatively small price tag and difficulty to walk away with.

A friend of mine has an IS lip and the I lip. He always uses the I lip, afraid that the IS lip is going to get stolen. The IS lip only comes on for car shows.

a few well-placed zip-ties would secure the lip

the plastic on the the top of the lip is thin enough to be able to rip it off the zip ties or anything, even with bolts. The lips are just that easy to steal

Why? Because it doesn't look correct with an E30 valence? Because the only way to secure one is via zip-ties? Because it is an odd excuse not to spend money at the BMW dealer?

                  Wow, those scoffers are idiots.

Does blend quite well with valence.

If you take the time you can use the clips that secure a factory peice.

Umm, as far as I can tell, most E30's are missing the front lip. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you worry to much about shit getting stolen from your car, just buy a shitty car, fixes that problem.
